Referrals and calendar synchronization

Referrals and calendar synchronization

A new referral module that creates transparency about what members actually help each other with, automatic sync to the Outlook calendar, response deadlines on meetings and the first member statistics.

I hope you’ve had a fantastic summer holiday and that you’re ready to give it your all for the rest of 2026 🚀

We’ve been brewing on a couple of new features for you and your members, including a brand new “referral” module and calendar synchronization with Outlook.

Outlook calendar synchronization

Your members can now have the meetings they’re invited to added automatically, straight into their Outlook calendar.

For now only Microsoft Outlook calendars can be synchronized, and if members take well to the feature, more providers will be added.

Synchronization is set up through your profile settings or under “add to calendar” on a meeting. It’s a good idea to create a post for your members in your community, so they don’t have to add every single meeting to their calendars manually.

Keep track of referrals between members

Built specifically for business-oriented professional networks

It’s almost unavoidable that a member will say at some point “I don’t feel like I’m getting anything out of the network” - and when the membership is up for renewal, that’s a pretty rough starting point.

The referral module is built to create transparency about what members actually help each other with.

There are 4 ways a referral can be created, and 3 of them are automatic:

  1. By sharing a member’s business card via Share contact on member profiles
  2. When a search is moved to Done.
  3. When one-to-one meetings are held between two members via Book meeting on member profiles.
  4. By manual creation, which both administrators and members can do.

And of course it’s entirely up to you whether you want to put an amount on the referrals.

Avoid last-minute cancellations

Are you tired of members being able to cancel their attendance at the last minute, leaving you with far too much breakfast for the meeting?

It’s now possible to set a response deadline on meetings via the meeting’s reminders. Meaning that after the response deadline, it’s no longer possible to cancel or sign up.

A first look at member statistics

We’re working on building more member management tools in the near future, so you can get an easy overview of the community, your members and guests.

The first graph is a simple view of member growth over time in the community. The graph is fairly simple at this early stage, since the history starts on July 25th. Take a look under Administration -> Users -> Statistics

  • Fixed a bug where moving a file to a new folder didn’t work.
  • Various fixes in translations and in the display of dates depending on language.
